Here is a reply to a Christian poster on another site:

Hello,

Mark Mark's words. He use the word Risen, which means to assume a standing position after lying, sitting, or kneeling or to get out of bed. He did not use the word 'Resurrection', smart fella!

According to Matthew, Mary Magdalene and the other Mary were the first to see an empty tomb.

According to Mark, Mary Magdalene, Mary and Salome went to the tomb and Mark had this to say:

Quote:
Mark 16

The Resurrection

1When the Sabbath was over, Mary Magdalene, Mary the mother of James, and Salome bought spices so that they might go to anoint Jesus' body. 2Very early on the first day of the week, just after sunrise, they were on their way to the tomb 3and they asked each other, "Who will roll the stone away from the entrance of the tomb?"

4But when they looked up, they saw that the stone, which was very large, had been rolled away. 5As they entered the tomb, they saw a young man dressed in a white robe sitting on the right side, and they were alarmed.

6"Don't be alarmed," he said. "You are looking for Jesus the Nazarene, who was crucified. He has risen! He is not here. See the place where they laid him. 7But go, tell his disciples and Peter, 'He is going ahead of you into Galilee. There you will see him, just as he told you.' "

8Trembling and bewildered, the women went out and fled from the tomb. They said nothing to anyone, because they were afraid.

This is where Mark actually ended his gospel.

Now someone, we do not know, went in and added Mark 16:9-20 which has been confirmed by the following statement in NIV:

Quote:
The most reliable early manuscripts and other ancient witnesses do not have Mark 16:9-20.

One can see clearly and easily how 16:9 contradicts 16:1 and this is a huge blunder in Mark's gospel.

According to Luke, Mary Magdalene, Mary and Joanna went to the tomb and did not see or meet Jesus at all. However, there is a very remarkable and noteworthy statement in Luke 24:

Quote:
Why do you look for the living among the dead? He is not here; he has risen!

And also mark Luke's words. He also writes risen.

According to John 20, only Mary Magdalene went but found the tomb empty, then ran to Simon Peter and the un-named disciple who outran each other, found the tomb empty and went back home without meeting Jesus. Mary stayed, stood crying and met Jesus. If the two disciples were sincere, they would have also stood their crying.

Jesus disclosed himself to Mary for the simple reason that she loved him most, was his darling, he loved her too, while the others never even kept a vigil at the tomb, knowing what he had told them earlier.

Now, please tell me whose account should I believe?

Personally, I do not believe that devils and demons were living inside the Jews and I cannot believe that seven demons were inside her. It is absurd. May be she was a disturbed and unstable girl and his words consoled her and he healed her.

The only reason is that the gospel writers had no other witness and no choice at all. She was the one who loved Jesus, was truly sincere and faithful to him, cared about him, while all the disciples did not care and even could not remember his words.

He trusted her more than anyone and that is why he wanted to meet them elsewhere. He must have been worried that any of them could turn out to be another Judas.

I have a lot of respect for both Marys but I do not have any respect for his disciples, who preferred sleep and comfort of home, instead of showing any concern for their master.

I have no problem. The problem lies in the gospels and the NT as a Scripture. I have already pointed out the misreport and the misinformation and hope you will read the gospels with an open mind and find out that Jesus did not die.

He simply had a good rest and rose up. There is no proof that he had died and there is no proof that he was resurrected. Please read the angel's words again.

While you are at it, please read the Greek transcripts of Matthew and Mark.

Joseph asks Pilate for SOMA (σωμα) and Pilate tells him to take the PTOMA (πτωμα). Please look into that. Soma in Greek means a limp body or a half-dead body or an exhausted body or a comatose body. Ptoma means a dead body or a corpse.

Cheers
