24.11 - Indeed, those who came with accusation are a group among you. Do not think of it bad for you; rather, it is good for you. For every person of them is what he has earned of sin; and the one who took upon himself the greater portion thereof, for him will be a great torture. 24.12 - Why when you heard it, the believing men and the believing women think good for themselves and said: This is a clear fabrication? 24.13 - Why did they not bring for it four witnesses? And if they bring not the witnesses, then it is them, in the sight of Allah, who are the liars. 24.14 - And had it not been for the grace of Allah upon you and His mercy in this world and the hereafter, you would have been touched for what you disclosed thereof a great torture. 24.15 - When you received it with your tongues and said with your mouths that of which you had no knowledge and thought of it insignificant while it was, in the sight of Allah, great. 24.16 - And why when you heard it, did you not say: It is not for us to talk of this. Glory be to You, this is a great slander? 24.17 - Allah admonishes you that you should not return to the like of it ever, if you should be believers. 24.18 - And Allah explains to you the signs. And Allah is Knowing, Wise. 24.19 - Indeed, those who like that indecency should be spread between those who have believed, for them will be a painful torture in this world and the hereafter. And Allah knows and you do not know. 24.20 - And had it not been for the grace of Allah upon you, and His mercy, and because Allah is Kind, Merciful.
